臺灣大學地理系&氣候永續學程 X 愛女孩協會 烏干達非營利組織事務暑期實習計畫
臺大理學院地理系及氣候變遷與永續發展學程將組成團隊與愛女孩國際關懷協會(臺灣)及 Love Binti International(Uganda)進行氣候行動田野調查,由簡旭伸教授的教育部學海築夢計畫補助,預計為期一個月的海外實作,協助協會具象化、數據化其執行計畫,進而為以臺灣出發的非營利組織累積參考數據,調整國際發展策略。海外實作地點距離東非維多利亞湖一公里的基地,湖邊氣候與人文環境深切影響著村民的生活模式及習慣。預計本次的氣候行動將能為該基地及其周邊聚落制定出合宜的計畫執行方針。
Love Binti,取自東非史瓦希里語,是關愛女孩之意。Love Binti創辦人楊怡庭,同時也是臺大理學院氣候變遷與永續發展學程博士班學生。從2015年開始深入非洲偏鄉,在極端貧窮中,發現生理用品的缺乏限制了婦女的行動,由簡單的布衛生棉衛教計畫開始,看見在地婦女的困境,進而發展出以婦女為核心,並具備永續發展方向的援助組織。
愛女孩在偏鄉設置水井、雨水收集系統、生態廁所等措施,改善供水與衛生;也為偏鄉建設教室,捍衛孩子的受教權;並設立訓練中心、提供職能培訓,Love Binti於2018年在東非烏干達,以及南非史瓦帝尼兩地註冊,並於2020年於臺灣立案「愛女孩國際關懷協會」成為跨國的國際非營利組織INGO。

- 研習費用:符合資格者將提供計畫時所需的伙食、住宿、及陸海空交通及簽證費用
- 資格:國立臺灣大學 台灣籍 在學學生 (大學部或研究所皆可)
- 研習內容:
- 收集農村社區、家戶硬體房屋現況和飲用水源的田野資料,並進行資料分析和視覺化。
- 利用收集到的田野資料,繪製半島村、社區、家戶和水源的地圖(WebGIS)。
- 解讀數據,評估村莊周邊地區的水情況,並提供報告,概述水井和雨水收集等水資源項目的實施策略,為組織的水資源規劃做出貢獻。

NTU Geography Department & IPCS x Love Binti International
Summer Internship Program
NTU Geography Department and International Degree Program in Climate Change / Sustainable Development is organizing a summer internship program on climate action with an NPO, Love Binti International, in Mukono, Uganda. The founder of LBI is one of our IPCSer!
The one-month internship program will help the Taiwan-based NPO formulate an overseas community development strategy through data collection, project designing, applying appropriate technology, and visualizing development impact.

Duration: 2023/08/03-2023/09/06 (one month)
Location:Mukono, Uganda. Kagulu Village
Eligibility: National Taiwan University students-Taiwanese Passport holder (Undergrad, Master/PhD Degree)
Fees: Eligible candidates will be provided with all expenses required for the program meals, accommodation, land, sea and air transportation and visa.
Ability Requirement
- Gather field data on the existing status of rural communities, households, and their water sources as part of the Africa-based Wash program internship. Analyze and present the collected data in a visually appealing manner.
- Employ the acquired field data to generate WebGIS maps that illustrate Peninsula Village, neighboring communities, households, and water sources.
- Analyze the data to evaluate the water conditions in the surrounding regions of the villages. Produce a comprehensive report that outlines recommended approaches for implementing water resource projects like wells and rainwater harvesting. These recommendations will contribute to the organization's water resource planning efforts.
